It is that time of the year when we start thinking about returning to the beautiful Rift Valley — and specifically to the splendor of Lake Elementaita and its scenic environs. Picture the beautiful birds, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, gazelles, impalas, warthogs… and don’t forget the prehistoric site, crocodile centre, museum, and even a chalk manufacturing quarry & factory.

You’ll be amazed by the Sleeping Warrior hill views especially if you choose to run the 42km marathon distance, the welcoming and supportive local community that clearly loves visitors, and of course, the beautiful hotels and lodges waiting to host you.

A major highlight on our new 42km and also the usual beautiful 30km race route? Running in the magical bird sanctuary usually dominated by flamingoes and other wildlife, being guarded by the armed game rangers, and racing up to the famous Sleeping Warrior hill and then up to the Hot Springs of Maji Moto — a natural hot spring that not only draws tourists from far and wide will take your breath away.

A beautiful medal souvenir awaits you at the finish line. This race you shall remember forever.
